Nobody said that was the final step, let's face it, this whole thing is not going to pop out of our asses like a beautiful golden egg, fully formed and valuable. We're going to have to divide and conquer, break it down into steps and stages.
Also decentralized can be achieved in other ways, like simply by letting users download the message base. That has a number of advantages to it too, like it's simple. Keep it Simple Stupid is a fantastic principle.

You are correct. I have yet to discover all that's shitty about Lenny. Decentralization is the giant leap forward, along with fair open management - both huge improvements, despite whatever setbacks and hurdles.
Yes, backing up the system and providing it to download is a critical top priority.
