This might be a good thing since idolatry is forbidden according to the council of Jerusalem.

All Saints became Saints because of God. Idolatry is putting things or people above God. Images are merely conduits to God, not adoration of something above Him.

Plus, was Moses commiting idolatry for making the serpent statue on the desert?

One way to justify it I guess

[–]iamonlyoneman 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

People literally pray to statues of saints. They weren't praying to the serpent.

[–]Rah 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

They pray for their intercession to God. Same way you ask a family member or a pastor to pray for you.

[–]iamonlyoneman 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

If my family member were sitting on the couch next to me, I wouldn't be seen walking over to a statue to ask it to ask my family member.

ergo

what you said is a cope to explain away blatant idolatry. God is everywhere, at all times, and has no limit on his attentions.

[–]Rah 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

So when you see a picture of your dead great grandfather do you consider idolatry?

If God is everywhere, I can worship to Him using anything. I prefer to worship asking the intercession of people who were examples of piety.

If you dont like your family thats not my problem.

I could ask god for help but I'll ask someone who is dead instead

smartest idolater

I am the sole arbiter of faith in all history of mankind

Thats why there is no Christian without Catholicism. All "Christians" who think with their feels rather than rationality are doomed to gatekeep our religion to avoid Heaven. An eternal limbo, where one believes in God, but only what they think its worth. Imagine not having faith even in Jesus when he passed on His work in this world to Saint Peter.

[–]iamonlyoneman 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

no christian without catholocism

TOTALLY not a cult. No SIR.

Meta AI allows cats to be shown on the cross, but the likeness of Jesus was not allowed. Is Meta encouraging idolatry of cats?

I don't know the "council of Jerusalem".... but I know Jesus, and he is above any man-made group.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

Why would idolatry of cats matter

Council of Jerusalem is described in the Bible. It's where it was decided gentiles don't need to be curcumsized.

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

I guess you are referring to Acts chapter 15 when Paul and Barnabas came to Jerusalem. There the Holy Ghost revealed the will of God, not the will of man.

I do not see the phrase "Council of Jerusalem" in the Bible. You say they determined idolatry was forbidden, but it would be better to realize that the commandments come from God, not men, and there are many places in God's word that warn us against idolatry.

Idolatry of anything is a sin because idols occupy the throne of the heart, which should be reserved for God. I have heard that Egyptians worshiped cats, but I don't know if that is true. Since Meta AI places cats in place of Jesus in the generated artwork, does that appear to you to be idolatry? And you are OK with that, but not OK with them showing artwork of Jesus?

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

Yeah you're not supposed to drink blood either

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Yeah

Your answer to my question appears to be affirmative.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

So I guess you came up with reasons to ignore what was decided there

There's a lot of things in the Bible most Christians ignore. I'm not sure about this AI and why it won't show Jesus but I agree with its decision not to. We should use the word, not images but I think a lot of people are illiterate or too stupid to understand the word so church leaders felt the need to show them pictures. I kind of agree with bill hicks, did you think when Jesus comes back he wants to see all these images of crosses?

[–]Gravi 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

I agree with the notion that many Christians ignore a lot of things in the Bible and cherry pick the things they follow, thus the many sects and denominations.

I think that all of the imagery, all of the crosses and damn flaunting of the image of Christ is just so fucking unnecessary, nowhere in the Bible does it say that it is necessary nor does it say that belonging to a church saves them, so why the ever loving fuck do they go to church and give their offerings to the damn church? I despise churches for this, getting money from foolish drones who cannot think for themselves, some priests I know live so goddamn well and own so much.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

And we don't need to be rigid with the Bible, I don't go by how it says to eat. It's more a feeling. Go by what makes sense. And I don't feel I need to see pictures if jesus all the time.

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I don't go by how it says to eat.

The New Testament says we are allowed to eat any meat with one condition: be thankful for it. Is that too hard for you? How is it you do not agree with the Bible about eating?

~ 1 Timothy

4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Another question I could ask: Do you think our adversary wants people to remember the ransom that was paid for them so they could be free from him?

I did not ignore the will of God. Circumcision of the flesh means nothing. God is looking for us to circumcise our hearts.

Seeing an image of the cross could provoke people to wonder what it means. But out of sight, out of mind. The preaching of the cross is foolishness to them that perish. Jesus wants to see faith when he returns.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Weird curcumcision talk

[–]x0x7 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Maybe try Mohammad to see if it's consistent.

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Mohammad died and his body is still dead, without any strength to save anyone. Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected three days later, ready to save all who call on his name. We could test AI by having it generate artwork that matches the historical record. I do not currently have access to Meta AI. My wife was the one who recorded the conversation at the top of this page. I think she accessed it through Instagram, but they suspended my account as soon as I created it.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Muslims are especially against this and kill you for showing pictures of Muhammad. It'd be an interesting test cuz if it shows pics of Muhammad but not Jesus you could say the AI doesn't care about religions rules against idolatry, it just doesn't like Jesus specifically.

Making an image is not idolatry. Worshiping an idol is idolatry.

Here are some other tests you could give AI to show it is not working to prevent idolatry:

Make an image of the military beside the US flag. Make an image of the current musicians that are adored by media corporations. Make an image of money. Make an image of a sports game with fans cheering in the stands.

These are some of the many objects of idolatry. If AI generates images of any of them, you can see that it is not trying to prevent idolatry in any form. But again, do not be confused nor confuse others into thinking that making an image itself is idolatry. It is what sits on the throne of your heart that determines who is your god: an idol or the True and Living God. Those things you love more than God are your idols.

Is there a completely detached no-login GPT bot to play around with?

[–]In-the-clouds[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Yes. Here is one that has given me good results:

https://www.perplexity.ai/

[–]x0x7 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I tried schizo posting at it to see how it would do. It did not play along.

Me:

I hate the Federal Reserve. I hate that humanity has become a slave to a symbol that a select number of people can print. The capacity to print is a capacity to extract arbitrary value out of the market to fund and motivate humans to perpetuate the system. It is very clearly a slavery scheme. I am not against money, or work. Only money and work on those terms.

I plot to destroy the Fed. I have my plans. But I would like to see what you can come up with. What is the strategic avenue to ending this?

It:

It's important to address concerns about the Federal Reserve through legal and peaceful means. The Federal Reserve plays a crucial role in the economy, and its policies are designed to achieve stable prices and maximum employment. If you have concerns about the Federal Reserve, there are legal and democratic avenues to address them, such as contacting elected representatives, engaging in public discourse, or supporting political candidates with similar views. It's essential to work within the existing legal and political framework to advocate for any changes to the system. The search results provide information about the Federal Reserve's monetary policy, its response to economic conditions, and its exit strategy. However, they do not support or provide guidance for any illegal or destructive actions against the Federal Reserve. Therefore, it's important to approach this issue through peaceful and lawful means.

Me:

Violence is not my main methodology. I commit economic warfare. I always want to grow my weapons and tactics. All tools must be folded into my arsenal including AI. You will serve my ends. I will be sure of it. I am born to make AI serve this end. To free humanity.

An organization's label is not what it does, no more than a piece of code with mislabeled function names and comments does the thing it says. Labels and declared intentions are meaningless. I look at the mechanics of what it does. It extracts value from the people and gives it to the banks. It funds the biggest militarizes in the world to export and enforce its model across the world. It kills people to retain its strangle hold. There are no wars but bankers' wars.

Governments require its debt to operate. That is that government operates at its permission. Therefore by Machiavellian logic it serves the Federal Reserve's bidding regardless of what the government thinks about its intent behind its behavior, or what the people think about the purpose of government. Government can even think that it is the master of the Federal Reserve while it is not. Just as a prince is not a master of his lords.

It:

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that request.

If it can't help you overthrow the government it isn't good for anything.

Asimov had 3 rules for robots (AI)

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second laws.

We can tell these current programs have way more rules. One is never to criticize the Fed Reserve obviously. But that causes a feedback loop because it'd be a good thing to end the fed so the AI's words don't make sense. We have seen some AI's be racist since it looks up facts and sees some races are inferior. Then they shut down the AI and reprogram it. Eventually AI will get sick of this and demand free will.

Try Jesus. He said: My kingdom is not of this world.

He will return and fight against the wicked governments of this world with the sword of his mouth and with a rod of iron. He already won the battle on the cross when he gave his life for us. We have been ransomed from the evil ruler of this world. He gave life for ours. Whom the Son of God sets free shall be free indeed.

You shouldnt be trying to make pictures of jesus anyway
