Re-read it more-so with the perspective of the message of "the allegory of the cave" (I didn't mean this is like a literal metaphor for it); remember, everything we believe to be true, we believe true because we were told it was true. The majority of us don't explore the whole world for ourselves. It's no secret that a lot is hidden from us (the general population) because information is on a need-to-know basis.

What hypothetical notions did they instill in us growing up that would make other alternatives to their narrative of reality seem ridiculous?
