I'm all for the 33 degree symbolism which they place in every story they can but the more likely reason is that this was a low budget cartoon making fun of Kone because he pilots a helicopter, and did so most days for years. So, one fan said he probably is going to die in a helicopter crash, which isn't too crazy to say. If he wasn't so open about piloting a helicopter and only just started and then suddenly he died, then it would be more creepy.
