because 'we did not know what was true'

AKA: don't spread misinformation!

ALSO: Do we know if there is anything problematic on the laptop copy that was given to Feds?: NO (not until there is an analysis)

ALSO: We DON'T know what happened to that laptop BEFORE April 2019.

....with all due respect HKP

If you don't know if something is true you also don't know if it isn't true so don't have any reason to assume it's misinformation.

1) You know if something is refutable. This is the basic foundation of modern thinking: doubt. (Descartes, et al.)

2) An easily refutable claim lacks evidence. (Those who say this kind of claim is TRUE are proposing misinformation.)

3) A claim that is not easy to refute has reasonable, corrobrated evidence.

4) More about that here: https://saidit.net/s/censorship/comments/a2l5/it_was_a_mistake_extwitter_safety_chief_finally/10ebz
