The US government. You only use Tor if you have to. It was made by the navy. And there’s only like ten thousand nodes.

If we stand for freedom of speech, we should each host a node. It's not hard.

Agreed.
And an open-source VPN or few.

If you want to be framed for shit and invite the government into your home, you should host a node. If we had like a million plus nodes, that would be amazing.

You think that's going to happen if I host one? Hm...

Be careful. Tor is easy to use, but it is not easy. It’s not just like a “hey world” program. A node moves all different types of traffic, legal and illegal. There’s encryption. There’s a special way of moving traffic.
I have read that “in theory” the traffic can be tracked, in spite of the fact that it is encrypted traffic, separated into bytes, and “randomly” transmitted over several different nodes.
I used to dabble in the dark web, ALOT. And then I realized I was only using it out of curiosity, and not out of need. I wasn’t getting anything out of it. The risk of using something like that, way out weighted the benefit.

Tyranny man, I'm sick of it. But thank you for the advice. If we all toe that line though, our freedoms are only legend at this point.

The internet was also started as a DOD project (ARPANET). Not saying that it's foolproof as it does have weaknesses, but I wouldn't dismiss it's utility either.
