The good thing is we live in an era when people can at least communicate these thoughts online, even anonymously if they need to. I think having this open worldwide communication that didn't really exist 30 years ago, or the hundreds or thousands of years before that, has really changed the game and added a lot of counter-balance to the powerful attempting to control the narrative.

That's part of why I believe so much in the power of things like saidit, where people can actually say the thing that needs to be said but everyone is too afraid to say. And have conversations about it. And understand it better.

Wisdom is our only way out in the long run, and I think the internet is a window that lets people build wisdom who truly seek it. And this is going to change our culture forever, but it's going to take a while

Finally. Maybe these are the cracks in the dam that herald is crumbling. I cannot fucking wait for it. I am tired of the bullshit. I just want to shout truth from the rooftops. I do not even care anymore about political sides. I just want to hear the truth being spoken. I want to kill the hypocrisy in myself and I want to destroy it wherever I see it. After these many years of lies, I just want to get rid of everything false in me and society. If that destroys me in the process, so be it. I will go crazy if I have to nod along to any more of these lies. I sometimes just want to shout into people's faces what everybody already knows is true.

I'd like to be optimistic... but I can't help but think that they will continue to find something else to freak out about like they have been doing.

The culture war will never end. Every generation has their struggle. We need to fight because the other side won't stop, either. I am tired of it and it is new bullshit every year. Well ... I will kick the bucket soon enough and then I'll have done my part. Until then people will have to put up with my foul mouth and my dislike for bullshit.

Humans are group animals. We've literally evolved to have different opinions, likes and dislikes so the group will have a much wider range of ideas, skills, solutions etc. We will never all agree because that is actually terrible for the survival of the species.
