I always hated cats until I met my wife and we ended up getting 3! (Was conned into by the humane shelter but that's another story!)

She told me that the problem was not the cats but how they are raised and the environment in which they live. If they are in a home where family and strangers are at them all the time they will be hyper and defensive/aggressive.

In a proper home where they are respected they will be amazing pets and she was totally correct. The cats we have are awesome and friendly. I never worry about a sudden turn and getting scratch to shit.

I'm sorry for your loss of Peaches. I know when my cats go it's going to be one tough time.

Good for them for conning you, there are entirely too many cats out there. We feed strays, they never live more than a few years on the streets. We don't even name them anymore, just call them by color.

Peaches, and her sister Kiki were my first cats. Mistakes were made. I realized entirely too late that cats express themselves quite a bit with their mouths. Not letting your cat bite you is like not letting your kid hug you.

It hurts. I still miss my fluffy tuxedo cat Mushu and it's been three years. I miss his loud purrs, his drooling on my hand and his intense head butt after a cuddling session. Cats rule.

How old was Mushu? I don't mean to sound cold, but when you care for a cat in the end stage of life it can be a relief for them to pass. Peaches needed custom food made from chicken breast and liver. Cooking for a cat was a pain in the ass. And they miss the litter box.

We got him from someone when he was about 2 years old and had him for about 10 years. He had cancer and was going blind. It still makes me teary-eyed. He was loved and spoiled and had a good life so there's that. R.I.P to our beloved friends Peaches and Mushu, priceless companions.
