I think he is wrong that the welfare state causes single parents.

There simply aren't millions of women looking to become single mothers and carry that burden alone no matter who pays for it. Also in European countries with far better welfare the rates of single mothers are lower, not higher.

The fact is that women have been targeted by multiple political movements to give up their rights and expectations of a stable family life in place of ever more work and responsibilities.

This is partly because in Marxist analysis only people involved in the capitalist system exist, people contributing to society in non-economic ways can't be included in their politics. So the left thinks the only way women can have value in society is if they are working or on state benefits and has pushed to create that norm solely because of a huge hole in their theories which otherwise miss out half the population.

You forgot to call Sowell a house nigger. You're not supposed to engage him on the arguments, you're supposed to call him ugly names.
