Yup, that was my first thought about this..

Somebody is cooking dope...

They probably accidentally mixed the wrong part A with too much of the part B and it might have made a small explosion.. they should talk to the fire department and review their recent logs to look for weird fire calls and they could visit the local hospitals emergency room and just walk in to the intake and speak to the nurses to ask if they had any weird or odd burn victims recently, not just in the last few days.
