It doesn't sound like they have faith that Trump's going to get convicted. These delay tactics are going get swatted down by the Supreme Court.

It really is astounding how blatantly the incumbent president's party flouts the Constitution and rule of law, not just with regard to Trump but with regard to Americans' right to vote for the candidate of their choice and their right to freedom of speech and assembly and association. There's no clearer example of their "confession by projection" than when they fearmonger about Trump ushering in authoritarianism when they've been guilty of this in spades over the past 3 years.
