What difference, at this point, does it make?

Are there still good citizens who believe that the President of the Corporate States of America, no matter which of their owners parties they're "elected" from, has any power greater than that they were authorized to use by their owners?

The article touches on a prospect I saw laid out in more detail in a comment somewhere yesterday that has the ring of plausibility:

Carry Biden to the convention; Biden suffers an aneurysm and has to withdraw; Harris gets paid off in a $10 million deal not to seek the top slot; and the DNC nominates Gavin Newsome.

He's the ideal Dem candidate, he's been doing in California what the Democrats have been trying to do across the country. Then there's his connection to Pelosi, with all her financial backing, and his involving himself in issues outside the purview of a governor, e.g., his planned trip to Israel.

I have no difficulty imagining such a cynical move on the part of the Democratic leadership.

He's had two already, so it wouldn't even be particularly implausible, at least not compared to the thousand other things they expect us to swallow.

Should the Democrats seek to run a different candidate, it wouldn’t be the first time that a U.S. political party said no to the president even before voters were given a chance to cast their ballots.

Tyler, Fillmore, Pierce, Johnson, and Arthur were all denied their party’s nomination.

It seems that the smart thing to do is to have Biden join their ranks.

He isn't popular and people are losing faith in him.
