Harumph! If I can sit on my ass at my age and pretend to vote on stuff I haven't read, I don't see why bricklayers can't climb scaffolding with 75lbs of bricks in each arm until they're 75! Lazy buggers just looking for handouts! No wonder this country is going down the drain! Why in my day, bricklayers worked until they died !!!1

Frost is a significant player; as the article notes he was chosen to be the chief Brexit negotiator by the Johnson government. He's also been an ambassador and a cabinet minister.

So this marks the start of an early campaign by the UK establishment to significantly raise the pension age in the UK. After it's already been raised twice in the last 5 years (by smaller increments). They want to push the idea that it needs to continue to rise and that larger jumps up are necessary and need to be accelerated. Note his response here :

The big blocks of spending are health, pension, and benefits,” Lord Frost stated on Monday. “If you don’t tackle those you’re not really tackling anything.”

“People are much healthier than they used to be and I think [the pension age] does need to go up,” he said. Asked whether it should be raised to 70, he replied “75, it’s quite a lot higher.”
