This, this is what made every stupid call to a NYT columnist worth it. This is what made the constant drama worth it. This is what made me grit my teeth and tell myself it'll all be worth it over and over again, every time Trump did something embarrassing, every time he made an unforced error, every time he compromised or outright abandoned his platform, every time he ran away from his responsibilities and took to Twitter instead, every time he appointed some jackass a blind man could see would betray him.

This: the furious but utterly impotent shrieks of Mike Pence, and every other treacherous establishment tool who sees the chance of power, fame, and riches slipping away from him forever.

This: the permanent eradication of one wing of the uniparty.

It was Trump's most important promise, and I'm delighted that it's one of the few he fully kept. I go about the house humming as the irreversible bleedout continues, and the desperation becomes more frenzied, more pathetic, and more futile with each passing day.
