The only way to win a rigged carnival game is to walk way.

In many ways I agree: Don't legitimize the rigged process by participating.

A problem: The carnival may be on the other side of town so we can stay away from it, but what it does has far-reaching effects on all of us.

I'm not against participating in the carnival. I just see wasted effort on rigged games that could be made more productive. Blue Ocean strategy.

Very true. It has far reaching effects on the entire world. However, that is true whether or not we vote. And the anointee will be the nominee, whether or not we vote.

It's not our singular vote that matters. It's whom we give voters the opportunity to vote for that matter. That's where the value in voting lies.

You believe that the system is rigged, but also nonetheless believe that we are the ones who decide for whom voters can vote. I don't know how you can believe both at the same time.

The DNC is not sponsoring debates or primaries because Biden is to be the nominee. IMO, the DNC never stopped choosing the Dem Presidential nominee, simply because someone invented primaries at some point. Primaries were blatantly disregarded in 1952, but the DNC learned to be more subtle over time.

(It may be that Biden will not remain the nominee if his approval ratings fall below a certain point during the general campaign, whereupon the DNC will name his replacement. But, one way or the other, the identity of the nominee will be the DNC's call.)
