Too bad that Monsanto's demon seed has gotten to Mexico's purple corn, which had been grown old school for centuries, maybe millennia. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Monsanto+see+ruining+purple+corn+in+Mexico&ia=web

please see also https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsanto_Co._v._Geertson_Seed_Farms Briefly, the FDA was allowing Monsanto to peddle its demon seed without meeting EPA requirements. Organic farmers sued, as the demon seed would endanger the organic nature of their seeds and crops. Obama's Solicitor General Kagan weighed in on behalf of Monsanto. Later, she became Justice Kagan.

We knew that we had a small gap of a U.S. export window in China when they came in and bought some corn from us, And that actually helped us out,” he says. “but now with the cancelations this week, I think for the most part, they've taken that lifeline back and we're focused on Brazilian corn offers for July and August that are $30, $40 or even $50 a ton cheaper than U.S. offers. And that's a problem, especially when we have a demand problem in a market that is fairly convinced that we've done the job of demand rationing.”

I might recall incorrectly, but wasn't the sole reason for China's increased corn purchases from the USA due to a deal with former President Trump? It seems like China didn't genuinely care about buying more corn from the USA. With the imposition of US sanctions, China might be inclined to say, "Forget it, why should we uphold our end of the deal when you can't fulfill yours?"
