The child is almost certainly male but is wearing a dress and being addressed as they/them.

Clearly a case of the modern incarnation of Munchausen’s Syndrome by Proxy.

On the one hand, I could see the logic of "using they/them until they're old enough to say their own pronouns" if you're there.

Unfortunately, it's cancelled by "okay, honey...are you a boy or a girl...but if you're a boy, that means you're a literally evil rapist oppressor who is the cause of everything wrong in the world, and I'll be honest, I just can't love you if you're an evil boy oppressing me...and I always wanted a pretty little girl who'll grow up to be my best friend...and you'll be so special and perfect if you're a girl...so what are you? A perfect pretty little girl to be Mommy's best friend, or a rapist oppressor?"
