I bet lobotomies would improve trans suicidality better than modern treatments.

Before going that far, we should try a hard clap upside the head and a sharp, stern "knock that shit off."

I don't know what the point of this meme is. I'm not sure how often Lupron and similar drugs are prescribed for precocious puberty, and I'm not at all convinced that it's safe for any use case. There's also a distinction to be made between the temporary use of a drug, and the use of a drug which as a precursor to other more severe hormonal interventions (ie cross sex hormones).

100% agree. The precocious puberty use of Lupron only seems to be less horrific because of its short use (1-2 years max). I imagine early puberty is pretty traumatic, but we seem to be pathologizing something based on our own statistical norms. I would imagine a specialized therapy approach would work much better with fewer physical problems down the road.

I was under the impression that Lupron was 'safe' for a matter of months if that. If a girl starts puberty very early, say at 8, how is it safe to use a drug like Lupron to delay puberty until 12 or so?

I have not heard of it being used until 12. IIRC precocious puberty is before 9 years of age in girls, as that’s typically the earliest puberty begins. Idk what the age would be for boys or if they use lupron.

If I remember correctly precocious puberty is around the ages of like 3-6. 8 years old is not necessarily normal but it’s within the right range for some kids to begin puberty.

This meme is stupid.
Of course, they are dangerous, every drug is dangerous, every drug is a toxic, no news here, it's one of the first thing you learn in pharmacology.
What is important is the benefit-risk ratio of the treatment. For precocious puberty, the benefit is greater than the risk and thus the treatment can be justified. For the transitioning of a minor, no. Especially when a good proportion of TRAs deny that transgenderism is an illness.
