This happened at an all girls high school hockey game in Swampscott, Massachusetts. A male who identifies as a female joined the team and hit a girl in the face, reportedly knocking her teeth out. You can hear her shrieking in pain

The local news never says that this is an identity issue. The report points out that MIAA (regulates school sports in MA) has a rule that if a school has a team that is not offered to both sexes then the team can be co-ed. There is no male field hockey team so males can play on the team.

Seems like a rule that was put in place so they could say, "well, if a girl wants to play football, she can, it just has to be on the co-ed team since there's no girls team."

Not only that, this happened in the area in the US that is second only to Minnesota for their love of hockey. There is no way those schools do not have an ice hockey team and would tell any males saying that to go play ice hockey instead, much like if a male were to go out for softball they'd tell them the baseball team's a different day.

Lots of rules like this. I think if you wanna go this way with contact sports you gotta start putting in weight qualifications and the like.

Like it's one thing entirely to have Co-ed tennis or something where the people aren't going to be barreling into each other on the regular.

Why would any parent let their girl play against a boy? More of this is coming. Some dude is going to be windmilling dunking on some 5’9 11th grader and is going to break her neck or caving in her chest.
