This is unfair. Their parents may hurt them and they may kill themselves. You know that, right? You know you're at risk if you tell them? That means it needs to be our little secret. Yes, we have secrets because we really love each other. And there's things that are okay when we love each other and have these secrets...yes, it's fine since I know you're a girl so it's not wrong...uhhh yeah, that's the stuff...no, don't bite, I'll tell your parents you're a girl if I feel teeth...mmm...yeah, this is all that girls were put on earth to do, you are my little slut girlfriend...

That's the thing. Can't keep it a secret from the parents. Makes no sense.

I'm a little shit. Say I know my classmate has decided they are Jane instead of Dick but doesn't want to let the parents know because umm reasons. Well you gotta tell the whole class that Dick is now Jane or else "she" will get misgendered and might kill "her"self, oh no! Honestly, it goes even worse than that since kids are little shits who don't totally know right from wrong yet, and many of them are outright evil without accountability. In addition to that, you add to the fact that kids have no filter and you're telling these kids the only good thing is to treat Dick like Jane, so even the "good" kids know it's good to treat Dick like Jane.

Put them together- the secret will never be kept. If it's not some good kid who's a friend referring to Dick as Jane in front of their parents and spilling the beans to them, it'll be some asshole either blackmailing them, just spilling the beans for the lulz, or more likely taking the blackmail from Jane and telling her parents anyway.
