"He was letting her do it" being the keyword here.

Oh yes, but it was still physical abuse. She likely chose him as a partner because she knew he had strong feelings against hitting women.

For every wife-beating man out there, there are just as many if not more men who were raised to never lay an aggressive hand on a woman. When you have that repeatedly ingrained into your psyche growing up then it becomes almost instinctual. Many men can personally attest to this myself included.

So, "letting her do it" in this case may mean in his mind, restraining her with force just wasn't an option. He could maybe call the cops but that's a risky move in itself since cops almost always take the side of the woman in domestic calls.

......You're speaking about men being taught not to hit women as if it were a bad thing. Jesus.

Not in the slightest. I think it's a good thing. WTF is wrong with you? You have some issues I think if that was your interpretation.

Then I am sorry. So many weirdos here that I got used to assume the worst.

Appreciate the apology. But yeah not only do I think it's a good thing but I think it's absolutely necessary to raise men this way. However, we do see situations where this rule is abused and taken full advantage of by women, so it's not like there isn't a downside. So I think we also need to teach men that when a woman proves to be an immediate threat to the safety of herself or those around her, it may be necessary to apply effective but reasonable force.

I can agree with that.

On the thread you are saying men can never be abused...You are a fucking idiot.

So what the fuck is a man who can't be physically overpowered by a woman supposed to do if she starts stabbing him? Just... be magically immune to being stabbed because he could overpower her if he wanted to but he isn't allowed to so much as raise a hand against her? What the fuck are you fucking talking about?

Why stop at knives? How about guns? Let's solve domestic violence by having everyone open carry while in the house. Dang, you're an idiot. Too bad I'm not talking about assault. I'm talking about domestic abuse. You know, the kind where if the woman says anything, the man overpowers her to teach her a lesson.
