I'm proud of both of them, and I think especially Ayoade as he is a lesser-known star that operates in circles with some fairly woke types. It would have been very easy for him not to put his name on this.

Yeah, I’m really surprised and impressed at Ayoade I didn’t have him pegged as someone who would stand by Glinner. Now I’m hoping he stays firm on how he handles this situation and doesn’t try to appease the mob.

I’ve always been a fan of Ross and even though he was one of the comedians that led the alternative comedy movement of the 80s he has never been anything other than liberal in the true sense when many of his contemporaries have become wokescolds of the highest order. He also has experience of attempted cancellations of his own.

I've known he's been on side for a while. I can't remember what the tell was now but I'm sure it will come to me.

I think it's to do with who his showbiz mates are and who he works with.

He does a lot of writing and producing so while he might not be a big celebrity name he is still quite a big player in the industry.

Edit: He's literally Laurence Fox's brother in law.

All the best UK comedy people are anti-trans. Glinner, Ayoade, Ross, Stephen Fry, David Mitchell, Robert Webb, Monty Python, Ricky Gervais. Probably more I don't know about.

Is Stephen Fry? Unfortunately, he seems to be sitting firmly on the fence, which is a shame after his lovely tirade against offence-takers:

'It's now very common to hear people say, "I'm rather offended by that", as if that gives them certain rights. It's no more than a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. "I'm offended by that." Well, so fucking what?'

I’ve been a fan of his for years but his refusal to put his rational empiricism where his mouth is with regards to the trans issue disappoints me considerably - and I know why, because under the harsh gaze of a rational empiricist, gender identity theory falls apart completely as it is indistinguishable from religious belief.

Oh I didn't know he rolled back. Not really relevant anyway since the second you say anything you're a TERF forever. But disappointing to see him split hairs to save face.

I think more and more people are realizing that TRAs aren't interested in equality, but rather power. They want the control to say who's in and who's out. You can still support the idea that we're all human beings and deserve rights without having to agree with everything some dumb blue-haired idiot thinks.

I honestly don't give two shits if trans people are unhappy.

Comedians Richard Ayoade and Jonathan Ross today joined a rapidly growing list of beloved entertainment stars who trans activists are trying to cancel.

Jonathan Ross is a fairly big deal in the UK.

The pair's 'crime' – according to the campaigners – was to review a book written by controversial comedy writer Graham Linehan.

Mr Linehan is long-time target of activists, who shut down his planned appearance at this year's Edinburgh Fringe festival. He performed elsewhere in the city. Last night, he announced he had written a book about his experiences of going from the widely-celebrated writer of Father Ted and The IT Crowd to being cancelled.

The front cover of 'Tough Crowd' features two quotes from Mr Ayoade and Mr Ross.

Mr Ayoade, who shot to fame playing Maurice Mosse on The IT Crowd, said: 'His brilliance in prose is equal to his brilliance as a scriptwriter.'

Mr Ross's featured remark said: 'A must-read book – funny and utterly compelling.'

Ross came out as a terf a while back and then his woke daughter corrected him and brought him back into line.

It's an interesting thing seeing as his wife writes a lot of screenplays for big studio film, including Kickass.

Didn’t another celebrity’s daughter pull that exact thing on their father recently? Or was that Ross? Clarkson or Gordon Ramsay possibly?

Has Jo Brand ever said anything pro-terf? I have always liked her and she was a psychiatric nurse at Bedlam, for some time I believe, prior to making it in comedy.

I'm 100% sure that words like coon and nigger are being used by that crowd while discussing Ayoade.

Remember. Peace and love ☺️🏳️‍🌈🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Jen Ives claimed: 'Just tore down my topless Richard Ayoade poster.' 🤣

I wonder if people cow-towing to islamists is what gave these morons the blueprint for their behaviour. Make as much noise as possible and hope someone backs down. But it's not backed by a credible threat of asssassination so I really don't get why people go along with it sometimes.

It's more a case of being on the offensive I think. It wins you a lot of ground early when people don't know what is happening, it also promotes your ideologues to constantly be on the offensive against evil rather than self reflect on their own ideology and it's problems.

it's like the Yale and Evergreen protests--the older generation was in this abject panic and quakingly handed over they keys to the campus: they even gave awards to the rich Ivy Leaguers who chased respected professors out of employment

by 2018 the shine wore off and it was more like "oh look, the newest batch of sophomores is demanding we hang the toilet paper overhand or they'll riot ... again. and two years later another batch of sophomores will be demanding the janitors hang the TP underhand or they'll riot ..."; 2020 was even more short-lived

I love them even more now. You know both of them are the farthest people from phobes and they have no issues with trans people. I'm proud that no humorless and toxic cunts will be watching these two anymore. I'd hate to think anyone who labels Richard Ayoade a phobe of any kind was enjoying his work. I can't wait until people like this (and I mean activists not trans or gay people who don't join in with these bigots) burn through all their allies and find themselves alone where they belong.
