I got banned from some subreddit once for "giving medical advice" because I told someone they need to contact a doctor for getting bit by a stray dog in the Philippines because you don't fuck around with rabies. But they're all like, no it's fine, you aren't a doctor shut up.

By the time symptoms of rabies begin to manifest themselves you're basically beyond the help of modern medicine but I guess it's more important for the person to feel happy about themselves for petting strays and being kind to animals or some bullshit than giving them advice on how not to die miserably.
