There’s just no justification for an adult teacher to be changing their clothes in the presence of children. Guy should be suspended, investigated and almost certainly fired and barred from working with children in future. Troonery doesn’t actually come into it, it would be a wrong for any adult to do that.

I just read the article (for once!)

Astonishingly he'd already been let go after some creepy behaviour, but was rehired:

At that time, the school board decided not to rehire Mr. Yates. But when the name Sasha Yates was used in the next round of coach hirings, not everyone on the board recognized this as the same person.

What craziness is this? Agreed this pervert should never work with kids again.

He's clearly doing something similar to "ban evading" in online communities but it's still on the school for not outright banning him. They basically tried to ghost him by not rehiring because no one wanted to explicitly ban him from working there. Then he changed his name to sneak back in so his motivations are clearly slimy but also not really illegal. The school couldn't even bring themselves to fire him.

When I was in school, not once did a PE teacher or coach come into the locker rooms to change while students were in there. Perhaps people on various sports teams have a different experience? The only time i remember an adult coming into the student changing area was when a kid slipped in the shower the teacher came in and escorted him out and had him get dressed in private.

This guy is clearly getting a thrill out of forcing himself into their face. Zero reason to go change with the students. Zero reason to go into the bathroom and start talking to someone.

This was identified as a major risk with the proposed changes to Self-ID in the UK and one of the reasons why the Scottish Parliament’s effort to pass it was vetoed by Westminster. Because of the way that “deadnaming” is considered a terrible sin, the people writing the laws for Self-ID go out of their way to make it difficult for anyone to link a trans name to a deadname, including on things like sex offender’s registries, lists of people barred from working with children and criminal background checks.

Did they actually say out loud that the sex offender registry couldn't deadname?

No, it was identified as a major issue by opponents of Self-ID.

The proposed way that the records were changed with Self-ID would have meant that there was no way to link the troonname to the deadname, so the logical consequence of that was that any background check would be confounded and that included the sex offender registry.

We should be clear that this isnt a deliberate thing, just that the people and organisations pushing self-ID are so ideologically possessed that they never acknowledge any negative consequences of their demands.

The trouble is, there’s no good way around the problem. They’ve made “deadnaming” a mortal sin, so requiring a Troon to provide their “deadname” when, for instance, applying for a job, would be utterly unacceptable. There cannot be a technical solution either because of the demand that the official records change the name and delete the deadname.

Did nobody interview him in person before giving him the job?

Did nobody say "Oh, its David Yates, he's changed his name to Sasha and is wearing a dress"?

I don't believe for a second that nobody recognised him. Of course they did.

Every gender identity change is a life do-over.
