Hollywood recently imposed DEI requirements into Academy award nominations. Though maybe it was just an admission that the awards have become irrelevant.

The awards have died. It’s largely being seen as insufferable rich people slapping each other on the backs whilst they preach endlessly about their rich people causes to the plebs who they think they’re superior to.

Social media and the 24/7 news cycle really killed the mystique of the movie star, it’s interesting that the last real movie star, Tom Cruise, is not really on social media, he just makes his movies, treats his fans with respect and sucks Xeno’s cock (or whatever Scientologists do)

I know it was the Golden Globes and not the Oscars, but Ricky Gervais was the best thing to happen to any media awards show. The way he mercilessly deflated their pomposity was genius.
