So how can you assume it's "wiring", and not that men are abused and traumatized to the point where they're numb to everything?

I grew up in a stable and loving community. The only severe abuse I ever experienced was at the hands of a woman I was in a long term relationship with. Luckily, I had enough stoicism from being male that I didn't sink to her level by abusing her back, and I eventually just walked instead.

Stoicism doesn't come from being male. It's one of many copes for traumatized people.

I'll have to disagree with you on that. While it's not a blanket rule and there are many exceptions in the case of both genders, males tend toward stoicism more than females. While I would agree that some traumatic situations can be coped with in the short term by taking a stoic approach, I would disagree that trauma gives rise to stoicism. If you don't have it in the first place, you're not going to be able to call on it when it's needed. And that's exactly what we're seeing in the OP video.

Males tend toward stoicism because they tend to be more traumatized, and because they know if they aren't stoic they'll be brutally tortured. That's not healthy, it's yet more evidence that the earth is totally unfair to males.
