They are. This is a group of people who are unwell to begin with, having both their delusions and persecution complexes fueled by social media, and being - I don't use this term lightly here - radicalized, of course that is going to spill out into the real world.

Radicalisation is a good term for it, it seems to follow a similar pattern to the kind of thing that happens to people persuaded to carry out Allahu Ackbangs.

Tell them something better awaits them, tell them that other people love them, separate them from their friends and family, tell them that they’re being oppressed, tell them that they can be special.

It’s very powerful, especially if the target is socially awkward or autistic or is struggling with mental issues.

I mean it's just the cycle that occurs when you base everything on 17yos always on social media--the radfems used to be in charge until ~2014 and the unfabulous gays were kicked out as having double patriarchy: you couldn't even open a Men's Center with 1% the funding of the women's without them pulling the fire alarm: they really had it all--a steady stream of abused women in shelters so they could flick their beans to the abuse stories, and even legal exemption from rape charges

then someone realized what'd happen if you applied their "98% of crimes are committed by males!" logic to race and the dystopian progressive stack was quickly whittled down; in 2020 I saw one FB page ban someone for disagreeing with Robin DiAngelo and next month condemn her, and both times it was the same power-mad admin (I actually noticed this on the right first--nobody cares about Dennis Prager or Glenn Beck, and Trump will be dumped in due time)

the hivemind of teenyboppers has turned on EVERY group they idolized as marginalized/oppressed: when Tumblr crapped itself 2018 I was certain a NB/trans showdown was in the making, and they quickly condemned all the actual trans as "truscum" so that they could clodge up "every 11yo who didn't feel comfortable with their body" in their numbers and give them the Pillow Angel treatment
