I remember a lot of dodging of the conversation. All they’d go on and on about is how it “wasn’t a reflection on trans people!!” Yet continue to say chris chan was trans. That all calling chris a he did was hurt trans feelings. Love how they have to make even the most vile issues about themselves.

Don't forget that Chris-Chan is one of the few cases where the receipts are there that they openly said they only transitioned to date lesbians, and there's claims they were flat-out groomed by trolls to do it...so Chris-Chan's the absolute worst hill to die on, and the snarts chose to happily die on it.

None of the people defending Chris being trans know a single thing about him and it shows. I’m certain this event breaking the mainstream was how many heard of him and thought he was just like them, not realizing how bad it looks that they defend him like this. He’s every ist and ism under the sun, and were he not wearing a dress, he’d be the exact flavor of cis white male they’d hate the most.

Worse, when people tell them the story of how Chris-Chan became trans, they doubled down and said "yes, it's perfectly fine to transition just to date lesbians", which both masked-off to say "Yes, we let the incels transmaxxing win and we're proud to say we did" and said "yes, we absolutely did the same thing as Chris-Chan", which is ...uh, Chris-Chan's not a role model. If you view him as a role model, you have not only hit the pathetic level rock bottom, then got a jackhammer and hammered through to the earth's core."

the only thing less productive they could do is to go door-to-door with graphic crime photos and asking your neighbors "be sure and remember that a trans woman did this; can you promise me to spend at least 1 hour a week practicing the proper pronouns of the prison rapist or diaper-microwaver, maybe go with some friends to a cafe and--" (yes, the cafe thing was cited as more Basic Decency here on TiA)

But you forget: No matter how much equality, and comparably HOW QUICKLY trans rights are happening compared to other groups fighting for equality had it (seriously, trans people achieved this much in basically a decade, that's inconceivable throughout history), it doesn't change that these are young adult novel-obsessed teens with a Harry Potter complex who want to be oppressed just...so...BADLY! so that they can be the hero of their YA novel.

Because of this, there's the realistic chance that they see just how much society is willing to give them equality and think "...that's IT? But I want to be Harry Potter fighting the Nazis!" and thus are trying to do things to get the average person to turn on trans rights, solely so they can create Nazis to punch.

Honestly, I can argue that "do not misgender trans people, even if they commit heinous crimes" has a case for people who are against the bullshit as well.

If you misgender a trans person who's committed a heinous act, you give the snarts an excuse to ignore the actual crime committed in favor of protecting the 'you misgendered them'. With that in mind, DO NOT misgender the person who did it. Use whatever pronouns they preferred- not out of respect for the trans person, but to take that excuse to ignore the heinous act out of the hands of the snarts. You use their pronouns, either the snart has to admit what the criminal did was a heinous act and that they're not worthy of protection or respect because of it (and you can bring them from the realm of insanity for one second)...or the snart has to finally take the mask off and flat-out say "it's okay that they did this crime because trans" (and you can force them to go so far that any reasonable person with a soul will turn against them.)

Even then, it's not a problem of respect or not, it's a point of "DO NOT give the people defending an absolute piece of shit ANYTHING that they can use to ignore the issue of 'this person is a piece of shit from your community; what are you going to do about it?'"

Remember- snarts are looking for an excuse to feel like they're being oppressed, and if they GET that excuse to feel like they're being oppressed, they will be able to claim that they're the hero fighting for equality by attacking the excuse and sweep the actual atrocity done under the rug at best- at worst flat-out say "well, the atrocity was simple justice because YOU did this to them, so it's really YOUR FAULT". You follow these claims, you take away any excuse they have to claim oppression, and thus you put the gun to their head: Either wash their hands of the POS who did this atrocity or say, out loud, that you support their right to commit the atrocity and prove they're evil for life.
