Whilst there's the in universe explanation of magic and it's all a bit too silly for me to care about in any meaningful way, I still can't shake the feeling that this is the result of some mpreg weirdo getting their hands on a writing gig for DC

Yeah if this was 10 years ago I wouldn't have batted an eye and just thought DC was doing some avant-garde shit. But in present day a story like this can't exist without the stench of tranny politics behind the curtain.

I'm thinking that they went with their version of "a wizard did it" precisely because they're trying to test the waters and see how this goes over. If the reception was positive, I'm quite willing to bet that they would quickly followed up with a bunch more Tumblr-esque fetish faggotry.

It's the dream of the fringe to have their special perversions and particular deviancies not only acknowledged, but accepted and popularized. That way, they're finally normal instead of abnormal chuds who need to be stomped back down into the cracks and crevices that they crawled forth from.

It's a comic. I can't really give a fuck. It's fiction.

Joker is pregnant? Who cares sounds like they ran out of good ideas.

The whole gender role swap trope, tends to be a bottom of the barrel idea they dredge up when they have nothing else. Rarely, someone has enough sense to kind of sidestep the obvious shit and make something worth watching. But that's the exception rather than the rule.
