You may actually be right because the article I read said that they tried to blame dysphoria for the murder - so they may have been trying to use it as an insanity defence.

I have a feeling that this is going to be something that happens more often in future.

Almost certainly that's the case. It's very common you see it happen a lot. Someone just comes out as transgender after they get arrested.

Frankly I don't give a fuck if they feel like they should wear a men's orange jumpsuit or a women's orange jumpsuit, as long as it fits.

I don't see how we can argue for them receiving hormone treatments or surgery while on death row though, even if we assume that "if they don't get it they'll kill themselves" emotional terroristic argument as valid, they're on death row, so what if they kill themselves?
