No, I'm not talking about them. Teenagers having sex with each other is what teenagers do. Age of consent laws exist to protect teenagers from predatory adults. I believe the age of consent should be 17, but I also support a close age exemption if the older party is less than 3 years older than the younger party.

If someone over 18 has sex with a child under 10 or if someone over 21 has sex with a child under 13, then I back the death penalty for the molester.

Yeah, that's reasonable. (Personally, I'd go with the age of consent being 16, with the close age exemption going to a maximum of 14 [so it's "if they are old enough to go to the same high school as the older party, it is fair game." A little higher if, say, a senior dates a freshman, but also much lower if a sophomore dates a freshman.)

Good points. Ultimately, we both want to protect children- who cannot process sex - and teenagers- who are developing - from adults seeking to take advantage of their vulnerability.
