For some further information here: Christian Henson is one of the co-founders of the company. They've frozen him out of his own company for expressing views that are no different from what's found in the interim Cass report. Autistic people are overrepresented in gender clinics and we should be allowed to question why.

Yeah, holy shit the entire music media just turned on him. Spitfire Audio was a darling, their “sampled” orchestra stuff is really highly regarded and they just threw him under the bus.

I can't help but feel like this is going to be another Rosie Kay situation though. By all accounts he's heavily contributed to their library, so let's hope he's been smart enough to retain the IP for his work.

I think she's stood by what she did, it's just what she did was nothing. She basically said male and female exist as separate classes and that reality has an effect in many areas, especially in dance. Part of the complaint against her was a female dancer who identified as non-binary being told they couldn't play a male role, because it involved lifts she didn't believe the dancer could pull off

I really hate the euphemistic way they describe their actions. "He's taking a break"... no, you're firing him because of totally reasonable views expressed in a personal Twitter post, probably because in reaction to the demands of a small contingent of Twitter warriors who are in no way part of your 'community'. Have the guts to admit it.

I don’t think they can actually fire him really, he’s co-owner/founder. I think they’re a private company too, so it’s not like shareholders can chuck him either.

Now it should be noted that synthesizers, for whatever reason, have historically interested a lot of trans people (see Wendy Carlos.) So I guess it's really not the best industry to be in if you're going to speak out on the issue.

It's the mildest comment I've seen. All he said was "Rowling and Linehan might have a point" and implied autistic people are overrepresented in gender clinics, which is backed up by the interim Cass report. This is like the Salem witch trials, merely saying "Now hang on, how do we know they're a witch?" gets you branded with accusations of witchcraft
