They’ve just spent the past fifty years getting their PR just right and infiltrating HR, education and medicine, so now those arguing against the abuse, mutilation, castration and poisoning of children are portrayed as the bad guys.

Conspiracy theorists being properly mental and acting like loons have made it very difficult to persuade people that real conspiracies exist, and it’s not helped by the fact that this conspiracy is almost cartoonishly evil.

I don’t know what the solution is. Possibly to allow under-18s (16+, not 12 year olds) access to a limited range of items for their own safety, possibly to improve sex ed so that it warns about dangerous practices (can’t help but think that maybe kink shaming exists for a reason), I dunno….all I know is that teenage boys shouldn’t be shoving knotted usb cables into their urethras in search of an orgasm.

Jesus that made me wince just thinking about it. Warning about it seems complex because I know that'd make a lot of people scream grooming, not to mention I can absolutely see idiots going "hey that seems like a good idea!".

Selling sex toys because teens are fucking idiots doesn't seem like the best response either though. It's an uncomfortable topic with no real solution that wouldn't be controversial though. Def creeps me out, though it creeping me out isn't a reason not to do it if they can prove it's benefitting teens by them not having incidents like the one you mentioned. Def cheaper to let them buy a sex toy than go through that sort of surgery.
