Can't make these kind of broad sweeping accusations towards a whole group for the behavior of an extreme minority and expect anyone who isn't already firmly in your camp to take you seriously.

Spoken like they WANT people who aren't in their camp to take you seriously.

Best case scenario, it's positioning themselves as Harry Potter against the Nazis and "you're either with us or you're against us". Worst case, they're openly planning step two in "once someone is trying to kill you, killing them first is justified."

It's the latter. That's how Karl Popper's "paradox of tolerance" is generally interpreted. Even though he initially makes the caveat that one should meet rational argument with rational argument, in practice, because there is no rational defense for liberalism, the Open Society relies on violence to crush dissident/illiberal thought.

Nope, they don't like Harry Potter anymore. Because his author is apparently a bigot.

That's an unfair misconception. They still love Harry Potter. That's why they care so much about JK Rowling.

It is pretty fun, though, watching their brainmeats sizzle as they try to figure out how to hate Rowling for being a transphobe, while still holding up Potter as the best things ever written.
