    Not only that, but the fetish in Thai ladyboys/trans "women" with the penis still want "they look like a very pretty woman, but have a penis." They're not exactly lining up for "a neckbeard with long hair in his grandma's old nightgown" or "a guy who presents as a guy, but he said his pronouns are he/they."

    Most of what the Western world interprets as "trans" in other countries or points in history are the homosexual transexuals, or just really effeminate gay men. Interestingly, there's no analog for autogynephiles. They-or at least the openness they enjoy - seem to be a uniquely Western phenomenon

    Both of these assume it's purely a social phenomenon and not a medical disorder (or more like disease because it's so awful). It shows society is struggling with gender roles again, thanks to liberals wanting to co-opt things for their agenda that they don't understand.
