As I understand it, nurses can't prescribe medicine.

She was fired for being a fake ass burse.

nurse practitioners can. they are effectively general practitioners but they don't have specialist knowledge and can't do surgery.

which makes this even sadder to me. they somehow made her feel the need to resign over a joke. So now the community lost a "doctor light" over a dumb joke on twitter that she can't even actually do (how will she be able to tell the conservatives from the liberals?)

I know that in Canada there's a certain category of nurses who can prescribe. Don't know about the USA though.

The US has physicians assistant (PA). It's above an RN.
