Good for him.

It's kind of weird that he made money in the first place.

A month ago, he'd made a $19 billion dollar company out of a the one he paid $44 billion dollars for. But that was before it was pointed out to advertisers that advertising on x placed their brands amongst racism.

I strongly suspect that his association with tesla will now be impacting sales negatively.

But that was before it was pointed out to advertisers that advertising on x placed their brands amongst racism.

That was a hoax. They created accounts and followed the spiciest accounts they knew of, then complained that the ads appeared in the feeds of the accounts they created. 🤡 That's why they're being sued by X. Might as well complain to TV advertisers that some of their ads may be shown to "white supremacists."

That was a hoax.

No, those were actual screenshots.

They created accounts and followed the spiciest accounts they knew of, then complained that the ads appeared in the feeds of the accounts they created.

Next to ads from brands who would like not to appear next to posts supporting Hitler and Nazis.

🤡 That's why they're being sued by X.

Musk is lucky with the Judge. Reed O’Connor is a partisan GOP hack, appointed by Trump and famous for "anding down poorly reasoned opinions giving major policy victories to right-wing litigants. Probably what he was hoping for.

So by the time media matters win, it will be on appeal.

Might as well complain to TV advertisers that some of their ads may be shown to "white supremacists."

The problem is not who they're shown to, its the horrible content that is appearing on x that the ads may be shown next to.

I don't think you understand how the internet/web works.

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (17 children)

What makes you think that?

[–]xoenix 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (16 children)

You didn't address what I said and how Media Matters crafted those screenshots.

X placed the ads next to hate speech. It matters to the advertiser that they did that in some circumstance. They already knew that it doesn't do it in every circumstance (assuming they went to the bother of looking at their own ad at least once). Which is what Media Matters showed them.

What makes you not think I understand how the internet/web works.

X placed the ads next to hate speech.

But San Francisco-based X says in its complaint filed in federal court in Fort Worth, Texas, that Media Matters “knowingly and maliciously” portrayed ads next to hateful material “as if they were what typical X users experience on the platform.”

X's complaint claims that Media Matters manipulated algorithms on the platform to create images of advertisers' paid posts next to racist, incendiary content. The juxtapositions, according to the complaint, were "manufactured, inorganic and extraordinarily rare."

You are an ally to evil.

Yes i knew Musk is suing.

X still placed the ads next to hate speech.

X's complaint claims that Media Matters manipulated algorithms on the platform to create images of advertisers' paid posts next to racist, incendiary content. The juxtapositions, according to the complaint, were "manufactured, inorganic and extraordinarily rare."

I can't see that that matters. If it can be manufactured it can be captured and exploited by competitors. It doesn't matter if it's rare unless it doesn't happen.

Media matters showed that it does.

You are an ally to evil.

I can't see that that matters.

Of course not. As you can not see anything that does not fit your narrative. As you are a transparent liar acting in bad faith.

It matters to the advertiser that they did that in some circumstance.

No it doesn't. It doesn't matter to anyone.

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They pulled the ads, and most of them have gone silent on x, and instead have moved their social media teams to threads.

So it appears to have mattered to then to me. What makes you think it didn't matter?

I wonder how much it cost to run X on a yearly basis?
