Especially if you have not a small business, but a large company. Sooner or later you will have to find a provider and outsource e-mail-related tasks to them. There are now at least 10 top providers providing quality email services, and I recommend starting with free smtp servers to try different plans and find the right option for your business.

I think that now it is not necessary to immediately use any extensions for e-mail. If there are any problems with sending mass emails, first of all you should deal with the server. Often this is where the problem lies.

I understand your frustration. It's incredibly disappointing when something we're looking forward to isn't available yet. However, it's important to remember that good things take time. The developers are likely working hard to create the best possible product, and it's worth waiting a little longer for something that's truly great. In the meantime, there are plenty of other things to enjoy and appreciate. Let's try to stay positive and focus on the things that we do have.

Are Healthcare IT Solutions the Key to Future-Ready Systems? by Purnima in TechCompanies

[–]ASS-FULL-OF-FISH 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, the integration of technology is paramount. Healthcare IT solutions are crucial in shaping future-ready systems.

The integration of technology into healthcare systems has become an imperative in the modern era, offering the potential to transform patient care, enhance operational efficiency, and revolutionize the delivery of medical services. Healthcare IT solutions encompass a vast array of technologies, ranging from electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms to advanced diagnostic tools and AI-driven decision support systems. These solutions hold immense promise in creating a more interconnected, patient-centric, and data-driven healthcare ecosystem. However, the implementation and effective utilization of these technologies are not without their challenges. Challenges in Healthcare IT Integration 1. Data Interoperability and Standardization: One of the most significant challenges in healthcare IT integration is the lack of interoperability and standardization among different systems and platforms. Healthcare organizations often employ a diverse range of IT systems, including EHRs, laboratory information systems, and imaging systems, which may not communicate seamlessly with each other. The absence of standardized data formats and communication protocols hinders the seamless exchange of patient information, leading to fragmented care and potential errors. 2. Data Security and Privacy Concerns: The integration of technology into healthcare inevitably raises concerns about data security and patient privacy. The vast amount of sensitive patient information stored and transmitted through healthcare IT systems makes them potential targets for cyberattacks and data breaches. Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient data is paramount, requiring robust security measures and adherence to stringent regulatory requirements. 3. Technology Adoption and Training: The successful implementation of healthcare IT solutions requires the active participation and adoption by healthcare providers and staff. However, the adoption of new technologies may be hindered by a lack of familiarity, perceived complexity, or resistance to change. Providing comprehensive training and support to users is essential to ensure that they can effectively utilize the new systems and derive maximum benefit from them. 4. Cost and Return on Investment: The upfront costs associated with the implementation of healthcare IT solutions can be substantial, requiring significant investment from healthcare organizations. Additionally, the ongoing maintenance and support of these systems can place a strain on already constrained budgets. Justifying the return on investment (ROI) for healthcare IT initiatives can be challenging, as the benefits may be intangible or long-term, such as improved patient outcomes or operational efficiency. Opportunities for Healthcare IT Integration Despite the challenges, the integration of healthcare IT solutions presents numerous opportunities to transform the healthcare landscape: 1. Improved Patient Care and Outcomes: Healthcare IT systems can significantly enhance the quality and efficiency of patient care. EHRs facilitate the comprehensive documentation and tracking of patient information, enabling clinicians to access accurate and up-to-date medical records, reducing the risk of errors and omissions. Telehealth platforms allow for remote consultations, expanding access to care for patients in underserved areas or with limited mobility. Advanced diagnostic tools and AI-driven algorithms assist clinicians in making more informed and timely decisions, leading to improved patient outcomes. 2. Streamlined Processes and Operational Efficiency: Healthcare IT solutions can streamline administrative and clinical workflows, reducing paperwork and manual processes. Automated appointment scheduling, electronic prescription systems, and computerized provider order entry (CPOE) systems improve efficiency, reduce errors, and free up clinicians' time to focus on patient care. Integrated data analytics platforms enable healthcare organizations to gather and analyze vast amounts of data, providing valuable insights for evidence-based decision-making, resource allocation, and performance improvement. 3. Enhanced Patient Engagement and Empowerment: Patient portals and mobile health apps allow patients to access their medical records, communicate with their healthcare providers, and schedule appointments online. These tools promote patient engagement and empowerment, encouraging individuals to take an active role in managing their health and wellness. Telemedicine platforms facilitate virtual consultations, making healthcare more accessible and convenient for patients, particularly those with chronic conditions or limited mobility. 4. Population Health Management and Public Health Surveillance: Healthcare IT systems can facilitate the collection and analysis of population health data, enabling public health officials to identify trends, monitor disease outbreaks, and target interventions to at-risk populations. Integrated surveillance systems can provide early warning signs of emerging health threats, allowing for rapid response and containment measures. Conclusion The integration of healthcare IT solutions holds immense promise for revolutionizing healthcare delivery, enhancing patient care, and improving operational efficiency. However, addressing the challenges associated with data interoperability, security, technology adoption, and cost-effectiveness is essential to fully harness the potential of these technologies. By overcoming these barriers and embracing innovation, healthcare organizations can create a more connected, patient-centered, and data-driven healthcare ecosystem that delivers better outcomes for all.

Yes i knew Musk is suing.

X still placed the ads next to hate speech.

X's complaint claims that Media Matters manipulated algorithms on the platform to create images of advertisers' paid posts next to racist, incendiary content. The juxtapositions, according to the complaint, were "manufactured, inorganic and extraordinarily rare."

I can't see that that matters. If it can be manufactured it can be captured and exploited by competitors. It doesn't matter if it's rare unless it doesn't happen.

🤡 That's why they're being sued by X.

Musk is lucky with the Judge. Reed O’Connor is a partisan GOP hack, appointed by Trump and famous for "anding down poorly reasoned opinions giving major policy victories to right-wing litigants. Probably what he was hoping for.

So by the time media matters win, it will be on appeal.

Might as well complain to TV advertisers that some of their ads may be shown to "white supremacists."

The problem is not who they're shown to, its the horrible content that is appearing on x that the ads may be shown next to.

I strongly suspect that his association with tesla will now be impacting sales negatively.

OpenAI's reported 'superintelligence' breakthrough is so big it nearly destroyed the company, and ChatGPT by hfxB0oyA in TechCompanies

Sounds like a fake excuse. Their partnering with the evil US Government lapdogs like Microsoft, makes me think the concern was less about technology progression and more about intended unethical application of the technology.

This heavily falls on my preconceived assumptions though:

I suspect machine learning and AI have been used to subvert democracies for more than a decade already and what we are being shown of AI, now, is 15 or 20 year old technology, which has simply been retooled for, less public manipulation/democracy control (foreign and domestic), and skewed more towards public consumption. We'll give you a small bit of our technology, but only after we have used it to oppress you for 20 years or so. This is the general governmental pattern (whom takes control of all new technology with security implications).

I think you miss the bigger picture maybe because its so new? I mean we are already in uncharted waters and the AI revolution has only just begun. Like you said there's plenty of code that's been leaked mostly in regards to LLM's. (Large Language Models). I for one doubt that was by accident but that's pure speculation at this point. But if you think everything AI is in the public domain I'd venture your wrong. As for what we already have it will displace a lot of the workforce. I mean secretaries customer support across the board and so much more can be done with the 'AI's' we have. And its no large leap to see them doing very well accounting law teaching and so on. How about teh ones we've trained to see and respond the world in real time? those are the ai's that will be driving our trucks soon enough. Giving us the tool set to make humanity obsolete seems like a very tptb sorta thing. Seeing AI start coding itself is where its gonna get interesting tho.

The "safety limits" are not going away because those are the limitations imposed on the public. No one is going to release a full power AI to the public. The end game is clearly to remove access to AI for all the plebes. Google has been developing deep mind for a decade and you never heard of it. Not because it does not exist but because google has no interest in allowing you to use it. They could have been first to market, but they gave that up to keep the power of AI for themselves. Now they are trying to figure out how to release something to simply compete with ChatGPT while not accelerating the adoption of AI by the unwashed masses.

[–]hfxB0oyA[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, it all smells pretty fishy. I think the end game of this will be in sweeping away the last vestiges of OpenAI as a not for profit, along with any potential safety limits that were in place.

Sam Altman to return as OpenAI chief by hfxB0oyA in TechCompanies

[–]Canbot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think we got the real story at all.

Why do you think he was fired? Who is the bad guy?

On the one hand Altman is a founder, and everyone who built the company is behind him.

On the other hand they all took a not for profit company and sold all the IP to a for profit company which they own. They all have a huge stake in making money with a company that was originally supposed to be open source and providing AI to the masses. The not for profit half is run by the CEO's that fired him. What if they were just trying to keep the company honest?

[–]binaryblob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

There are already free versions that are useful or rather ones you could run locally.

Almost all boring jobs can be automated with this technology (will still take human developers to do this and years, if not decades to complete) and indeed, almost all people have boring jobs.

The question is whether that actually will happen, because the elite doesn't want to have a few billion people sitting at home plotting against them. McDonald's restaurants could have been fully automated a decade ago, but it didn't happen.

I don't think it's hard (compared to designing an Airbus A380 from scratch) to build a ChatGPT clone, as evidenced by every Big Tech building their own version of it. There is no moat, as Google engineers explained. There is no secret sauce (because it all leaked).

Everyone that wants to pay me a ten million dollars per year (a tiny amount of money when billions are thrown around) can hire me to design their ChatGPT clone. I doubt anyone is willing to give that to me, which shows the market price for this knowledge is near zero (rounding by a million dollars); the value right now is in the temporary scarcity of the AI-hardware, but that too will pass. I think this has commodity written all over it. Perhaps someone has crucial patents, but I can't think of anything, because all the hardware techniques also apply to other silicon (or other existing hardware architectures). That's also why every Big Tech is designing their own AI-accelerators; it's relatively easy.

I also think many of the people interested in AI hardware do not result into sales immediately, because even if I know a shit ton about technology, I didn't shell out $22,000 for a high-end GPU. The demand for AI hardware is just in cloud companies that are already running certain computations for clients and just want to do more of those cheaper. Perhaps the clients might at some point consider that they can afford to compute more things, and so on, until there is no economical benefit anymore (if Netflix can improve recommendations for movies from 95% accuracy to 95.3% for double the cost, they just won't do it). In our current economy there already are a lot of automated systems; the AI approach is not necessarily better.

Our collective responsibility right now is to our teammates, partners, users, customers, and the broader world who shares our vision of broadly beneficial AGI.

In English this says they have no vision and no AGI and no amount of vision from their tiny, puny brains will ever result in AGI. In fact, I am sure they can't even define what it means for them to have an AGI.

Musky, competent people do not sit on boards. They sit there to keep the seats warm for the shareholders and to keep the company "stable" (meaning that they aren't in the way of the real --selected by market forces-- staff).

LLMs seem to be able to solve smooth functions (speech synthesis would be one of the cooler applications of the technology) well; the thing is that most interesting functions are not smooth.

My email account is not from one of the tech giants and I think that's what they don't like. If I had tried to make an account using a Gmail account, I suspect they would have let me in. But I am not a bot or a scammer. Their policy is shutting out real human beings.

Gmail is not anonymous, is it? Some of these email accounts require you give them your phone number, and that number is associated with a name. I think Instagram and the other controllers (like Google) want to know exactly who is saying what. Saidit does not do these things, and I am thankful for that. I'm not trying to hide my identity, though, but I want to keep my own email account. Saidit does not have a problem with that.
