I had a Sikh friend explain all of this to me and it was fascinating. He also had a metal bracelet that he could use for protection. One of the coolest dudes, very decent guy.

Me too, best friend from Grade 7 to past University. I moved for work and we drifted.

If I recall there were 4 sacred items - the turban, the dagger, the bracelet (kardhi or kardha - I forget which is bracelet or watch), and special underwear (kinda like the Mormons I guess).

Correction: 5, remove the dagger add a comb and hair, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikhism#Initiation_and_the_Khalsa.
