i was a member of that sub. We got into some really good debates there, and for the most part everyone was respectful (though I don't think we changed each other's minds much.

You cannot change the mind of someone who is already so far deep in denial. They need to be willing to question their own identities first. The main reason debate matters is for neutral onlooker "normies" who stumble upon the space.

You're talking about people who have internalized mental illness as part of their "identity" - and no, actually referring to the "neurodivergent" crowd, not even the obvious trans activists.
