While dogpiling sucks, it seems like the solution is worse than the problem.

I actually respect this.

Why is that?

Because the tragedy of social media is that you can search through a person's entire history and find one thing that maybe wasn't controversial at the time, apply today's rules, and ruin their life.

To avoid that problem, the Mastodon user could pick a username that does not reveal their true identity, like we do here at Saidit.

However, it is my belief that we should be willing to stand up for what we believe in, even if it means being persecuted.

By knowing people and those people introducing you to others, I would assume. So like how things used to be IRL.

Thanks for answering my question. I don't know anyone personally on Mastodon. Without the ability to search what people are saying, it's hard for me to get to know anyone there.

When we talk to people IRL, we can search by asking them a question.

Hello, friend, what do you know about: (((search query)))?

Unfortunately, many people are not willing to share truthful and unbiased information, but that's true on the internet and in other forms of communication: television, radio, and word of mouth. And many people IRL that do know something of value are selfish and stay quiet.

Everybody is happy. If you're worked up, it's your fault. What kind of stupid snowflake pushes that crap?
