Mastodon - Weak Search Capability Is Intentional ~ "It deliberately does not allow searching for arbitrary strings in the entire database, in order to reduce the risk of abuse by people searching for controversial terms to find people to dogpile." ~ So how do people find posts without hashtags?

By knowing people and those people introducing you to others, I would assume. So like how things used to be IRL.

Thanks for answering my question. I don't know anyone personally on Mastodon. Without the ability to search what people are saying, it's hard for me to get to know anyone there.

When we talk to people IRL, we can search by asking them a question.

Hello, friend, what do you know about: (((search query)))?

Unfortunately, many people are not willing to share truthful and unbiased information, but that's true on the internet and in other forms of communication: television, radio, and word of mouth. And many people IRL that do know something of value are selfish and stay quiet.
