Doesn't seem like something Twitter management would do deliberately. Maybe a coincidence. Maybe someone gaming the system to make a news story. Would be interesting to know what. You'd hope Twitter would have some tooling to record why people get "verified" (endorsed) - ie who or what pressed the button.

They don't. They ban people willy-nilly. You just have to make the SJWs who work there feel bad. That's enough. DeVito just got his bluecheck removed because he's too popular to ban outright.
