/u/d3rr check it out, I updated the format of the list to focus around the true reddit-like alternatives exclusively in one list, and then the rest of the forum websites are listed separately. Now we're shown at our true place in 3rd among our true peers. If you want to copy this post just let me know and I'll give you the source. I also updated the alexa rankings.

I also added littr.me as per this post: https://saidit.net/s/SaiditAlternatives/comments/1vr4/littrme_decentralized_and_federated_alternative/

I dig your formatting, it's all much more straightforward. I don't think the reddit mods would be into it, but maybe they'll see this and get inspired.

Littr looks cool, and like they're much farther along with Activity Pub than anyone else. I'll add it to the reddit list.

Cool, I think I'll be using the style going forward. If you want to copy it over to redditalternatives just say the word!

discord

Discord is not a real forum, but more of a messenger.

Sorry for the dumb question, but why would a site promote its alternatives?

Because we care most about the post-reddit ecosystem and the availability of information

Ah, I see.
Thanks for explanation.

Yes, Reddit indeed is full of censorship.

Also important are the federated sites for greater decentralization. They are separate now, but perhaps they will all eventually form a federated hive mind of sorts.

Great list!

That would also be great in a wiki.

Are information sites comparable? ie. WikiSpooks, Wikipedia, Quora, etc. I guess the whole internet is a research tool.
