So why exactly would we be automatically subscribed to every freaking sub on signup? That's just a mess. I just spent 10 minutes unclicking garbage like "test", "dddddddwst" and 4 bloody "conspiracywhatsit" subs.

Because it's an opt-out system, you just unsubscribe from the ones you don't like while you view saidit.net/s/subscribed. It doesn't matter if you're subbed to subs that never post because they won't show up. That was the design intent, sorry it wasn't super clear to you, we'll work to improve it.

You can unsubscribe from all of them at once in your user preferences if you like.

We made /all the front page so stuff doesn't get lost in the cracks, because it's a small community still. We may soon switch back to the subscribed page being the front page, or make it a user option to choose which of the two you prefer as your front page.

I figured there would be a mass unsubscribe, I did not find it but now I see it when I know it's there, it's pretty buried. I just went to Edit Subs at the top, got the list, saw no Unsub All and started manually going through them.

I understand the rationale, but I would certainly start out with a little more curation in the list, this is already unwieldy and there's only 80-odd.

SaidIt does not have the torrent of posts that Reddit has. So many subs are not posted to with any intense frequency.
