Here's the thing, you're trying to attract reddit users but most of them want a safe space echo chamber to validate their views and ban anyone who disagrees. Saidit on the other hand has rules to prevent that. That's what drives them away and I'm OK with that.

Look at lemmy. Not even two weeks have passed since this shitshow began and they're already fragmenting the community with beehaw's admin defederating the biggest instance lemmy.world and also sh.itjust.works. This idiot has been a user for a week and he's already asking for sh.itjust.works to defederate exploding-heads.com because he doesn't like their views. I've seen users buried with downvotes for expressing their views just like in reddit.

I'm fine with growing the community, but I don't want to give up free speech to achieve it.
