Carswell and a few others have a long history of wanting to ban free speech on Saidit. Whenever they've tried to get some users banned (from the site, subs and/or chat), they've faced resistence from other Saiditors who've noted that Saidit is supposed to be a free speech website. It's been good to see Saiditors who literally hate me arguing that it's nonetheless wrong to ban me. I've found that interesting. That said, if those same users bother to read this comment here, they'll perhaps now say mean things to me. In any event - it's a good point here about free speech, and I think a conversation Saiditors should have periodically, because a number of them seem to disagree, and because a resolution to this problem will potentially help Saidit grow and be more interesting. Attempts to limit speech at Saidit tend to kill the activity here.
