IP2 is muted from s/all and 99% of IP2 users do not stray from their sub. Why does it matter if they exist?

I came here as part of IP2, if it weren't for IP2 I wouldn't have had many of the great discussions I've had on the rest of SaidIt. Those from IP2 who venture outward don't behave the same way on the rest of SaidIt. IP2 and the streaming community as a whole has it's own culture. You also have to understand that IP2 isn't too different from farmers watching "lolcows" (such as Onision for example) - they usually never tip the cow (or streamer in this case), and the streamers they're watching are degenerates. They're literally all degenerates. The people on IP2 are watching them choose to ruin their lives by doing crazy and stupid shit on streams.

They don't promote hate. They watch people doing stupid shit. And as a community, they have a culture of their own - if users in the community are being stupid, they get shut down. I'm not saying they aren't crude or immature, but for the most part, they keep to themselves and just watch streamers lol. They're not a virtual-army that fucks with people for no reason. Even IP2 is wholesome at times.

Am I saiditting wrong, the all/new queue is straight up 9 out of 10 posts from IP2?

And after scrolling down, I'd say 2/3rds of the posts there are from IP2 too.

On the /all/new queue, yes. But not the /all/hot queue. We're going to add something to make it also apply to /all/new queue in the future

Wait a second, the end goal is that we can't see all subs when browsing /all/?

[–]magnora7 13 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 2 fun -  (11 children)

Yes there are a few subs that are that way by their own choice. We're thinking about making an unfiltered_all someday, or something similar, that has absolutely everything, including subs filtered in this way. Every sub still comes up in the subs list and /all/new currently, just not /all/hot

Fair enough you know if there's a list of planned changes, like a roadmap or something for this place?

[–]magnora7 10 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

We have a prioritized to-do list that's about 70 items long, but it's private for now. The top things are an iOS app, some backend upgrades, and a crossposting system. We basically complete projects as we're able, but we're always looking for more coding help if you happen to know anyone.

I do a bit of backend admin on a few sites and can build you a browserbased wrapper for the site, but only on android lol

But for ios, why not a WebApp that runs on ios, android, windows, mac and linux? I love the ease of use to the point where instantly add PeppermintOS ICE SSB on every distro i install.

edit: wheres ya git repo?

But for ios, why not a WebApp that runs on ios, android, windows, mac and linux?

We tried that at first, building an app using xamarin for all platforms, but fell apart. However d3rr was able to port redreader successfully to saidit, which is an open source android reddit app.

We'd love to have a multi-platform app like that, but we're also not going to give up on our android app because it has over 5000 installs.

Here's the github for the android app: https://github.com/libertysoft3/RedReader

I'm open to any approach, as long as we end up with an iOS app!

We tried that at first, building an app using xamarin

xamarin is an app framework, isn't it? That's the opposite of a webapp, a few lines of code in the html to make chrome and firefox handle the page completely different.

It took me 30 minutes to create a dirty custom webapp for my home NextCloud, including reading up on how to do it. eh, ok maybe an hour.

hacking away at an android app, kotlin to swift? nah. But assuming the android app is mostly replacing reddit refs with saidits, would it be possible to use i.e. beam for ios?

Why do you need to hide IP2 from the rest of your website? That sounds to me like you're giving them special treatment to operate outside of your community guidelines.

[–][deleted] 14 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

We chose to opt out of s/all out of respect for the rest of the site due to our activity.

[–]HorrorShow[S] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Ah ok, that makes sense.

[–][deleted] 14 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

Mute it if you don't want to see it

[–]Cephalomutinium 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (8 children)

... But when I broser /all I kinda want to see it all. I was wondering about how to use the interface, and I thought I did it wrong since I got different results.

Some other guy has already explained that removing subs from all is by design and planned to escalate. That's a bit strange to me. Do you know if saidit has some sort of road map?

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 4 fun9 insightful - 3 fun10 insightful - 4 fun -  (7 children)

Just browse by https://saidit.net/new/ like a real chad if you want the full experience

[–]Cephalomutinium 4 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 4 fun -  (6 children)

nah im more of a beef supreme, i want to be ablet o choose

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

As of now I think thats the only way to get everything in one place including the subs that opt out of s/all

[–]magnora7 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Correct. Also https://saidit.net/s/all/comments/ is an unfiltered list of comments for the whole site if you have no subs muted

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

Browsing by comments has grown to be my fav way to browse after /new/

[–]magnora7 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

same, it's a great way to see activity

[–]squadW 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Similarities between Onision and Ice Poseidon is that they are pedophiles that made their community turn against them.
