The EU isn’t that bad for small websites. It’s only when you get big that they start to care.

Hopefully Saidit is headed that way. EU is a poor choice of hosting. No freedom of speech there.

Some people overlook Switzerland (not in the EU but people mistake it) as not being a good place to host.

Well yes and no.

EU isn't a single entity, really depends on the country

None of them have free speech. Shithole countries.

Nonsense, 4 out of top 10 countries according to world press freedom index are EU countries.

I really don't see how all of them could be shitholes

Just because they don't kill journalists doesn't mean they value freedom of speech.

Remember Charlie Hebdo? They brought their Islamic terror attack on themselves, was the general feeling.

There's a lot more that goes into those metrics than just that.

I don't follow. Are you saying they deserved it or are you saying that the general opinion was that?

That's one country partially explained, I'm still waiting for an explanation why you think the other 27 are shitholes

So you don't remember Charlie Hebdo? They published material offensive to Muslims. Anywhere else in the world, people would have just laughed at their outrage. But in Europe, the general feeling was that Charlie Hebdo did something wrong.

And then when the terrorists burst in and killed them all, the general feeling was "they deserved it." Sick, eh? This is what happens when you have no culture of free speech.

Excuse me? Don't you remember the the #JeSuisCharlie thing that was trending at the time? Of course a very large majority didn't support the massacre what kind of twisted reality do you live in? I don't know from where you get your news but I can assure you France is nothing like the image you have in your head.

You still haven't answered for the other 27 countries btw

[–]Chipit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes and that was widely understood to be bashing Islam. Charlie Hebdo should never have done it in the first place. It was deliberately insulting to an oppressed minority group.

I'm sorry, I was talking about Europe. Not the individual pissant countries that I honestly can't remember because many of them are small and insignificant. Quick, what's the difference between Minnesota and Michigan?
