It is possible they dont have enough combat capable pilots or they are trying to minimize the use of the ones they currently have.

It seems odd to me they are all overweight.
I used to know some people in the navy they were recruiting a lot of women pilots because they actually had a weight limit on the role and a lot of fit men were too heavy.
